Peach season is upon us, and here in Georgia, the peach reigns supreme! 🍑 If you’re anything like me, you know that a peach is not just a fruit but a way of life. So, let’s dive into how to make your own fresh peach fruit leather right in your oven—with just 2 ingredients!

Homemade Peach Fruit Leather: Georgia’s Favorite Snack

Since moving to Georgia, I've become quite the peach enthusiast—there’s nothing like savoring a fresh, sweet peachy gem. August is National Peach Month, so it’s the perfect time to share go-to peach recipes. This homemade peach fruit leather doesn’t require a fancy food dehydrator and is an irresistible addition to any lunchbox.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups of peaches (the fresher, the better!)
  • Sweetener to taste (I recommend honey or maple syrup for that extra peachy sweetness)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 150 degrees F (or the lowest temperature it can manage). Line an 11x17 baking sheet with a baking mat or parchment paper.
  2. Puree the peaches with your sweetener in a blender or food processor until smooth. Pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, spreading it out to about 1/8 inch thick. Give the baking sheet a few gentle taps on the counter to even it out.
  3. Pop the baking sheet in the oven and let it bake for 6-8 hours, or until the center is no longer tacky. If your oven doesn’t go as low, keep a close eye on it. Once done, let it cool to room temperature before peeling off the fruit leather from the mat or paper.
  4. Cut into squares or strips—use a pizza cutter, knife, or scissors. For fruit rolls, roll up the strips in parchment paper!

Bonus Tip: Strawberries and raspberries are fantastic alternatives if you’re feeling fruity!

So, embrace the peachy season and enjoy this delicious treat. After all, in Georgia, we take our peaches seriously! 🍑🎉
